We’re proud to celebrate the success of the Nottingham High School (Syracuse City School District) 2022 Mock Trial Team.
After five weeks of local competitions, Nottingham was declared the Onondaga County Champion defeating defending champs Fayetteville-Manlius H.S., in a virtual round judged by the Hon. David Peebles on April 21st.
Nottingham then moved onto the regionals, where they competed against the winning teams from Oneida, Tompkins, Broome, Chemung and Chenango counties.
After competing in two play-in rounds on April 26th and 28th, the team moved into Saturday morning’s semi-finals undefeated and as the top-ranked team, winning again and moving to the Championship that afternoon.
After a hard-fought round against New Hartford High School, judged by Supreme Court Justice Bernadette Romano Clark, Nottingham was declared the regional champs.
The team now advances to the New York State championship hosted by NYSBA in late May, where it will compete against seven regional winners.
Congratulations to all 12 high schools who competed in the OCBA/Onondaga County tournament this year. We look forward to next year when we hope to compete in person once again!
