Lisa A. Dolak | Angela S. Cooney Professor of Law at the Syracuse University College of Law | 1.5 MCLE Professional Practice | Wednesday July 9 | Noon – 1:30pm
Patent owners, applicants and potential patent challengers, and patent practitioners | The Supreme Court’s remarkable interest in patent cases continued during the 2013-14 term, with important rulings regarding patentability standards, proving infringement, and attorney fee awards. This program will review the new decisions, highlight their implications for patent applicants, owners, and challengers (and their counsel), and preview important patent cases currently pending before the Court.
Prof. Dolak teaches courses on patent law, civil procedure and the federal courts. In her professional consulting practice, she serves as an expert in patent cases, malpractice cases, and disciplinary proceedings. During a sabbatical leave from Syracuse University, she served as law clerk to the Hon. Paul R. Michel, Judge (Ret.), United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She served during 2005-2013 as a member of the Federal Circuit’s Advisory Council.
